What was your Virgin story?
Was it a romantic moment spent with someone you loved? A traumatic event? A non event or disappointment? Did it involve your own consent or lack of?
Losing your virginity is a big deal. Just like your first real kiss; your virginity story holds weight.
For it's a moment where you gave such a cherished part of yourself to another.
Maybe the moment you had was so special, filled with love, connection and intimacy...
But if it wasn't; I'm sorry. I'm sorry if that moment wasn't how it should have been... I'm sorry if you suffered or saved yourself for 'the one' that didn't end up being 'the one'... I'm sorry if it left you with scars either physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually... I'm sorry if there's a part of you that may not have fully made peace with that moment.
But this is where that changes.
For how you see that moment matters... the moment where a decision (either consciously or not) was made. A decision that matured you in some way, shape or form.
This is where I invite you to ask yourself; 'How would you have liked it to go?' 'What would have been the most picture perfect version of this story?' 'And what would have made it 'special'?'
And if you could speak to the girl you were... What advice would you have given her? What kind of things do you wish she knew? What kind of conversations or initiations into Womanhood do you wish she had supporting Her?
Sometimes we have to apologise to ourselves for not expecting more from those in our lives... we set the bar too low, the standard not based off our own best interests, the rules too easily broken.
That our own true desires, wants and needs weren't added into the equation.
The reason I am inviting you to face this moment is simple: If you're experience with 'sex' has in some way, shape or form been 'harmed, hurt or heart broken' then it must be repaired.
It must be rewritten, restored and reimagined.
For that moment may still be impacting your current experience with 'sex' and how you show up in the bed room, in life and with another to this day.
So I invite you to write yourself a letter... a letter to the girl you once were... the girl who lost her virginity and repair the 'broken vase' one and for all.
